Privacy Notice

How we handle
your data.

Plain language. Short list. No tracking pixels, no third-party advertisers.

Who we are

Kirby, Let’s Go is a trade name of Yu Collective LLC, based in San Mateo County, California. The data controller is Catherine Yu. For any privacy question or request, email cat@kirbyletsgo.com.

What we collect

Only what you give us through forms on this site — primarily the lesson questionnaire. That includes:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and city/zip.
  • Information about your dog (name, breed, behavior, training history, schedule, diet, medications) that you choose to share.
  • An optional photo of your dog, if you upload one.
  • The consents you grant and the timestamp of each.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or fingerprinting. We do not buy or sell personal data.

Why we collect it (lawful basis)

Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We process your data only after you check the explicit consent boxes on the questionnaire. The purposes are: (1) to prepare for and schedule your training session, (2) to contact you about the session, and (3) where you grant the media release, to use photos or video taken during training in our portfolio. Each consent is granular and independent.

How we use and share it

Questionnaire submissions are delivered to Catherine’s inbox via Google Workspace (Gmail). Google acts as a sub-processor under its standard data-processing terms. We do not forward your data to any other party. If you book a payment, Square processes the payment under its own privacy policy — we never see your card details.

How long we keep it

Questionnaire emails are retained for up to 36 months so we can refer to context during follow-up sessions. After that we delete or anonymize them. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time (see “Your rights” below).

Where we store it

Email and uploaded files are stored on Google’s infrastructure (primarily US data centers). Standard contractual clauses apply for transfers from the EEA / UK to the United States.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that’s inaccurate — see how we handle corrections below.
  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”) — unless we have a legal obligation to keep it.
  • Withdraw any consent you previously granted.
  • Request a portable copy of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. your national data protection regulator).

To exercise any right, email cat@kirbyletsgo.com with the subject line “Data request”. We’ll respond within 30 days at the latest, usually faster.

How corrections work in practice. Because your submission is delivered as an email, the original message is immutable. To correct it, we’ll either (a) reply to the original thread with your correction so the record, read end-to-end, reflects the up-to-date version, or (b) delete the original entirely and ask you to resubmit — your choice. Both satisfy the GDPR right to rectification.

Cookies

The site uses strictly-necessary cookies only (for example, to remember your draft questionnaire answers in your own browser via localStorage). No analytics or advertising cookies are set.

Children

The services here are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this notice

If we materially change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and date the change below. Continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.
